These little stealth cameras pack quite a punch in their small form factor. They come in three main types. The normal stand alone model, the hi definition video model and the MMS/Email model which will send images direct to your mobile phone or email no matter where you are in the world. All models have identical specifications with the main differences being one is MMS/Email capable, one is Hi Definition video enabled (720p and 1080p) and the standard model takes video at 640 or 320. All models are 12 megapixel and are full infrared being either 850nm or 940nm which means that not only will they take outstanding pictures and movies during the day but will also do the same in total darkness. The 940nm infrared LEDs are virtually invisible (99%) to the naked eye. These LEDs produce virtually no light that the human eye can see. The 850nm infrared LEDs is not as invisible as a 940nm. They have a very slight reddish glow to the LEDs themselves. The fact that they do have a very small amount of light that the human eye can see directly relates to how well they can illuminate. The 850nm LED will illuminate up to 20 meters (65ft) while the 940nm LED will illuminate up to 10 meters (35ft). For most surveillance purposes I would recomend the 850nm as the illumination and distance is excellent. If the camera is mounted slightly above the target area looking down the slight reddish glow isn't noticable unless you are looking directly at the camera. For more covert surveillance or surveillance where the distance will be no greater than 10 meters the 940nm will do a great job.
